Caribana in de news

5 days to go everyone, you ready??? I am just about ready, I'm still on the hunt for face jewels... Dollorama & Everything for a Dollar don't have the proper size, theirs are either too large (for crafts) or too tiny. I really don't want to have to go downtown on King St. to get (pricey) face jewels. I've made some inquiries and hope to hear soon.

Junior King of the Bands - Leo the Lion
Isn't he adorable?

Saldenah's "The Deep" won Band of the Year, with "Pirates", Carnival Nationz taking second, and"Alkebu'lan", Toronto Revellers placing third.

Junior Queen, second place "High Priestess of Africa", Toronto Revellers

"Pirates Graveyard" - third place, Junior King of the Bands

This isn't recent news, but I had to post it because it's a cover picture of my section. As well as a favourite of Saldenah's, Fire Coral.

I must give a special hello to all the international visitors to this blog. Saudia Arabia, Iran, Barbados, Thailand, Germany and Turkey - how ya doing? I'm curious what brought you here, if it was some accident, or if you are coming to play mas? If not, will you next year? Leave comments, let us know what you think. We're over 10,000 hits, so thanks for stopping by, say something now, don't be shy.

    Hi Kara

Have you tried an art store? I was Michael's on the weekend and they have plenty of options. Also, I'm not sure where you live but there are lots of South-east Asian stores in the area of Islington/Albion with lots of options. Not as cheap as Dollarama but... you never know.

    Good luck!

PS It was nice meeting you at Kiddie's Carnival ;)

  2. South east Asian... thats very politically correct:). It was nice meeting you too. We are about 5 minutes from Islington/Albion. We often pop into Drupatis for fete tickets and doubles. I'm sure Kara will check out the shops in the area. Micheals is also a good option she didn't think of that, because the dollorama was right down the road from a Micheals. We will look for you on the road.

  3. Hiya Michanon, good to hear from ya...Michael's has craft size, which are not quite the right size for the face. The shops on Islington don't have them either. :( BUT, I just got mine at lunch at A Buck or Two!!!! Clear crystal ones & multi colored ones, only $1!!!! :-) They have a good selection, several sizes & shapes. (Mary Maxim had Swaroski crystals 6/$4. :-O)
Now I just need to do 'em how Buublenut does...

    Hola XVX!
