TruDynasty 2012 band launch - The Best of both Worlds

TruDynasty's take on the best of both worlds had to do with the struggle between good and bad. Angels were good, Lucifer was bad and S&M was good'N'bad.

Thea made an effort to stay true to her theme and once the names of the sections were announced and you looked at the costumes they made sense without being absolutely literal.

They put their own stamp on their costumes, you can see a similarity of design between not only all of the current sections, but also her past work. Specifically, I'm thinking of the bras and corsets from the soft and feminine Bliss and satiny green Envy.
Not only are the Heavenly's angel wings spectacular, but they are quite possible the first wings I've seen that moved well & the model carried herself wonderfully in them. I imagine that's what designers get ecstatic about, when a model is not only comfortable in the costume, but thrilled to be showing it, and makes it come alive.
I appreciate all that went into Adam & Eve's frontline, really like the styling of the Paradise bra, and Lucifer's fringe is nice. The frontline is stunning, not sinister - or maybe the model just looked happy. She had reason to be, it must be fun to play a hot devil.

The crowd at The Vue was interesting, not your usual launch crowd. There were band devotees and Caribana costume addicts, but there were also some crews that seemed to not be new to The Vue. An observation by some of us was perhaps much of the room didn't know soca or maybe even about Caribana, but that didn't mean they didn't enjoy the night. After the show, several girls jumped up on the risers, and danced and took pics with the models. By the looks of it, I'd say TruDynasty may have even captured some new masqueraders.

So, the question is, how will you decide... are you good or bad?

Good theme, I can see what each section represents in each costume. The fl wings from the white section looks AMAZING, but i'm not really feeling the rest of the costumes some look a bit rushed and unfinished.

lol to my fellow Anon @ 10:24, sounds like you had a traumatic childhood experience with a peacock :) My advice, don't go to the Toronto Zoo you might have a heart attack when a peacock crosses your path.

I'm also against the peacock feathers. They represent death is some cultures. I refuse to touch them or bring them into my home.

You can't mess with superstitious people.

I forgot to ad, the eye of the peacock feather is supposed to represent the "evil eye". In India they are considered lucky, but most European countries believe it brings death to the family if brought indoors.

Superstition proved to be true many years ago, and I don't mess with them. Besides, they look better on the bird.
