Visited Jamaal Maglorie & Toronto Revellers' mas camp to see their Viva Las Vegas Caribana costumes. The room displaying the costumes is small and narrow and entirely black. I find displaying the costumes on black mannequins really makes them pop. Jamaal was there to say hi and asked us if we needed any help.
This is Toronto Revellers second year and they went from #15 in 2006 to the number 3 spot on the road, very impressive.
My favourite costume. The vibrant blue really stands out... soft feathers, shimmery ocean coins... I could love wearing this.
The very trendy multi strand seedbead necklace can be worn after Caribana, very nice. The jewels on the bra are a simple, yet pretty touch. Very fine beading hanging down off the waist band.

Several bands continue to improve on quality and pay closer attention to detail each year, resulting in stunning costumes. When you know you would love to wear a few costumes from a few bands, the designs are improving, making your decision more difficult!
From seeing the detail in these simply sexy costumes, I'd say Toronto Revellers is a contender for Band of the Year.
