So have you planned your makeup yet? If you are gifted with makeup brushes, lucky you. If not, maybe you have a friend who is, or you're letting a pro take care of it. Here are some makeup looks I like that would go well with your costumes.
This year I got my rhinestones for $1 a pack at Bargain Club (a dollar + store). They carry many colours, and small, medium & large sizes.
I also found multicoloured, single colours and clear rhinestones last year at A Buck or Two for $1. I use eyelash glue to put them on. Dollar stores are the way to go! Rhinestones are in the craft sections of stores, so besides Michaels, you can also check out Walmart & Zellers.
As far as false eyelashes go, I haven't been successful with them. When I did wear them once, they were uncomfortable (I wear contacts). Sephora has a great selection, and drug & department stores carry them.
So masqueraders, who is doing your makeup, or where did you get your rhinestones, lashes, etc?

no gifted but can do my own as long as its not too complicated - already have what i'm doing for Caribana
I'm doing my own makeup. I have most of the colours I need (MAC junkie) and I got my false lashes from MAC and Sephora. Sephora has a great selection of lashes and in various colours to match costumes.
I actually have a question. I'm thinking about doing the jewels on my face, but I'm afraid that I'll tan in the sun during the day, and when I get home, I'll remove the jewels and have spots all over my face where the jewels were and the skin didn't tan!
Has anyone had that problem before? How do you get around it?
Thanks!
I had that problem several years ago with the stones leaving tan marks on my face LOL! Since then I used sunscreen on my face before applying my makeup and jewels. Also be careful when deciding what to use as an adhesive for the jewels. Some use eyelash glue which is an inexpensive product that you can purchase at Walmart and the like. Or you can use spirit glue which you can find at a costume/theatrical supply store.
I was wondering the same thing (about the crystals) thanks for clearing that up. I think I'm gonna go without them lol. As for lashes and make up, I bought mine from e-bay. It was a good deal. I'm not gifted but I have been able to do my make up really nicely, it just takes a lot of time. I probably should start practicing.
Thanks for the ideas though.
Oh girl.
I'm mad you gave away the dollar store secret...lol..j/p
I've gone a little insane in there and need to stay out of their craft section. If I buy anymore rhinestones and I'm gonna run out of skin.
Ardene has colorful makeup pallets that have a lot of the colors used above. You can get two sets for $6 which will come with 10 shades each. The pigments are strong and can be used wet and dry.
I've never had dots on my face from wearing rhinestones in TO. But sunscreen is always the safe choice. (I say as I just returned from Vegas where I got burnt at the Grand Canyon. Sigh.)
I'm so pleased I found orange mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow & lashes at Icing!! (One sale, only $2!)
I have to practice tomorrow!
The last Anon, from your comment, I know who you must be, lol! ;-)
