Toronto Revellers has been hyping up their theme Welcome to Oz since August 2010. They proudly announced a new designer to their team. "I have enlisted designs from an experienced, innovative, second to none designer from Trinidad, who has many years experience, creating, crafting and building world class costumes." said Jamaal Magloire. The Wizard of Oz is such a fun theme that could give masqueraders creative costume choices.
I think it's safe to say we'll see a sexy version of Dorothy's gingham dress.
I can also imagine how the good witch (rhinestone crown, pink tulle, wings, star wand), wicked witch (lacy corset, fishnets, cape), and the munchkins (colourful checked patterns, peticoats, striped hose, vests) costumes would be designed. I'm curious to see how designers portray the lion, tin man, winged monkeys and scarecrow. Do you think they will go with some version of this (Halloween costume) scarecrow?
We have family functions to attend this weekend, so we'll be away, and unfortunately we'll miss this launch.
