A nice sized crowd came to give their support to new band York Region Mas at their launch tonight at Woodbridge Memorial Arena. Their $20 admission included food and drinks, which was a very welcome thing to have at a small band launch.
Their presentation Somewhere in the Caribbean started with junior costumes, followed by 5 sections.
We always like to see new bands start out and watch their progression. It's not an easy road, so any support the carnival community can offer is appreciated.
We wish them all the best, it was a great showing for their first year.

The pink and blue, and purple are my favorites! Wish them good luck on their first year!
Wishing this band good luck on their first year. The light peach & blue section was my favorite. I think they should eliminate that step up to the runway on the stage and work on adding more to a few of the backpacks, arm pieces & leg pieces so they look more full. Good job overall though.
